The Baana Project, implemented with support from Save the Children, expands access to accurate and age-appropriate SRHR information for adolescents in Wakiso District. The project operates across 82 schools and 23 health facilities in Kakiri, Namayumba, Masuliita, and Gombe.
It combines print media, radio programming, and structured youth engagement to reach both in-school and out-of-school adolescents. Over 30,000 newsletters are distributed to schools, while live radio talk shows on CBS FM extend SRHR messaging to wider community audiences.
Youth champions play a central role by facilitating listenership sessions and peer learning, reaching over 7,000 out-of-school young people and strengthening community-based support systems for adolescent health and wellbeing.
