Project Details

The Karamoja Bursary Programme, funded by the Government of Ireland, provides educational support to vulnerable learners across nine districts in the Karamoja sub-region. Implemented by STF, the programme targets academically promising but economically disadvantaged youth, supporting their access to post-primary and post-secondary education.

The programme addresses financial, social, and psychosocial barriers to education through a holistic, systems-based approach involving partnerships with local governments, schools, and development partners. This ensures that learners receive comprehensive support throughout their education journey.

To date, over 430 scholars have completed their studies, while more than 1,500 learners are currently supported at secondary and tertiary levels—contributing to long-term human capital development and socio-economic transformation in Karamoja.
