Raising Hope Project
Supported by UNICEF, this project is implemented in 17 districts of Kasese, Tororo, Nabilatuk, Abim, Amudat, Kaabong/Karenga, Kotido, Moroto, Napak, Nakapiripirit, Kamuli, Arua, Adjumani, Moyo, Obongi, Nebbi, and Yumbe. The program focuses on empowering adolescent girls to realize their full potential by working with district and local governments to support program planning, implementation, review, and monitoring.
Activities include promoting the integration of life skills and citizenship education in school plans in target districts, building skills of adolescents for learning, personal empowerment, and active citizenship and/or employability through UNICEF-supported programs, providing access to out-of-school children for early learning, primary or secondary education, enhancing the capacity of schools for quality prevention and response mechanism to address gender-based violence in and out of schools. The target is that by 2025 national capacity is strengthened to plan, implement, monitor, and coordinate evidence-based communication strategies to advance child rights through positive behavior and social change
