This is an initiative funded by Irish Aid to support improved access to and retention in post primary education in Karamoja. The program benefits bright but disadvantaged children in the post primary level in Karamoja. The Irish Aid Bursary Program is implemented by Straight Talk Foundation in collaboration with the central and local government, and civil society organizations in the Karamoja region. In November 2016, STF was awarded a grant by the Embassy of Ireland to run to the program through its Moroto office. An inception meeting was then held with local government leaders to introduce the initiative at the end of the year. Annually, STF invites interested applicants to compete for 200 scholarships to enroll in post primary institutions. The bursary program was launched officially at a colorful event in Moroto district.
